Cook/Chef
To be responsible for planning and production of meals for both After School Clubs and holiday playschemes and our Friendship Centre – an older people’s project using food sourced from local food project initiatives.
ESSENTIAL:
- NVQ 2 in Food Preparation
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience of working as a cook/chef preparing meals for 20+ people.
• Providing versatile menus using food sourced from Fair Share or other food projects seeking to use food that would otherwise be wasted. We receive a delivery each Thursday morning which would be used as the basis on the next week’s menus.
• Preparation, production and presentation of a midday meal on Thursdays for the older people and cooked tea on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays for our children’s groups. Preparation, production and presentation of a buffet for a community group on Wednesday early afternoon.
Job Details
Hours: 18 hrs per week
Days: Term Time, (Mondays 3-6pm, Wednesdays 11-6pm, Thursdays 9-6pm) School Holidays, (Mon – Thurs 9.00 – 1.30pm)
Holidays: 5 weeks per annum + public holidays (pro rata)
Salary: £10.35 – 10.56
