A great start for your child

Rated Outstanding by Ofsted for the second time in a row, our nursery helps children aged 2 to 4 learn through play, with keyworkers who get to know every child and family.

As part of a community centre, we support the whole family, not just your child. Come and see what makes our nursery special.

Learning through play

Children don’t learn by having things done for them. They learn by doing things for themselves, with our guidance.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, with a focus on each child’s personal, social and emotional development and on the way they learn best.

Who looks after your child

A long-established team of highly qualified early years practitioners, who reflect the diversity of our community.

1:4

One member of staff for every four 2-year-olds: better than the one to five the law allows, because young children need more support.

1:8

One member of staff for every eight 3 and 4-year-olds.

Every child

has a keyworker, who gets to know them and their family.

Every adult

has an enhanced DBS check before they start, staff and volunteers alike.

Our Nursery Manager isn’t counted in the ratios, so there’s always someone free to help, and staffing covers breaks and anything unexpected.

A look inside

A few of the things the children can do.

In their words

  • “Two of my children have attended this nursery and the staff are so attentive to the children, they recognise children’s own individual requirements; identifying learning difficulties and special needs.”

    Parent

  • “It’s a nice nursery with friendly and cooperative staff. I have known the staff from 2013 as my elder son attended this nursery too. My kids learnt a lot of things here and I say this is the only nursery I would send my kids to.”

    Parent

  • “I am very impressed with Community Works Nursery; very polite staff and easy to work with. I’ve noticed that my child loves going and learning new things and is coming out of her shell a bit more than before she started.”

    Gemma, Parent

  • “My daughter has been going to Community Works nursery since last year and I must say its such a pleasure putting my daughter in there as staff are amazing with how they educate little children with their standards.”

    Amreen, Parent
